FAQ
Our expert staff answers customer's most asked questions.
What are the ideal chemical ranges for my pool?
Achieving a balanced pool involves maintaining a pH range of 7.2–7.8, total alkalinity between 80–120 ppm, calcium hardness at 180–220 ppm, and cyanuric acid (stabilizer) within 30–50 ppm. Chlorine levels should consistently fall within the 1–3 ppm range, by may need to be increased as CYA levels go above 60 PPM.
How often should I test my pool water?
Regular testing, ideally once a week, ensures that chemical levels are within the recommended range. This practice ensures that your pool is always ready for enjoyment.
What is better for my pool and my body: Salt Chlorinator or Chlorine Chemicals?
Opting for a salt chlorinator is a superior choice for both your pool and skin. In addition to cost savings on chemicals, it requires minimal maintenance with a 5-7 year replacement cycle on salt cells. Most salt cells have an operating life of 10,000 hours. Proper maintenance will help extend the life cycle of salt cells. Refer to your owner's manual for cleaning instructions and tips on cleaning Pentair salt cells and products that help keep all salt cells cleaner.
