Expert Comparison & Pro Tips On: Pentair 357255Z SuperFlo Strainer O-Ring
Most generic O-Rings are made from inferior materials and may not fit correctly. Furthermore, generic O-Rings can stretch, flatten, and degrade faster. Also, it is best to use OEM replacement O-Rings they are designed with the manufacturer's exact specifications.
Pro Tip: Make sure to lubricate your O-ring using a silicone lubricant, and this will preserve the O-Ring longer. Do not use petroleum based lubricants.
How often should I replace a SuperFlo strainer O-ring?
It is best to inspect O-Rings on equipment every 6 to 12 months while you clean filters or pump baskets. Furthermore, if you notice any leak in a location where there is an O-Ring, or loss of system pressure. Then it is time to replace your O-Ring.

I have an older Shasta pool so I am glad I can at least get replacement parts but I had to drive a long ways to get them. The people at TSpoolsupply were very helpful and had my parts the morning I ordered them. The parts were actually for a newer model of the pop up rotation device and but I was able to take the new gears and combine them with the old parts and keep my pool working. It would have been nice to know that because I had to assemble it more than once to notice some of the parts were different.
