  1. One of the best ways to detect a drain plug leak is to dry the area you are suspecting to have a leak. Then watch the pump while the system is running. The water leak may actually be migrating to the drain plug from somewhere else.
  2. When installing a new drain plug clean in the threaded hole and the area outside on the volute. Also, check to make sure the O-ring is correctly seated.
  3. We recommend to only hand tighten the plug this will help avoid cross-threading. Also, to protect the O-Ring applying a small amount of silicone O-Ring lubricant is recommended when installing.
