Pro Tips from Shasta Experts
- Sizing a heater is very important. There's a few variables.
- Yes, gallons, they're very important to see how large of BTUs you might need for your heater.
- However, surface area is more important because most of the heat loss goes through the surface of the pool, not the walls or floor.
- So covering with a solar cover is a must, especially at night when you're not using it because heat will rise, you know, leave the pool, and then it's going to lower the temperature.
- Some people think the larger the BTUs, the faster it heats. Not necessarily it's going to heat twice as fast, but it depends on a lot of other circumstances.
